But I think in the end, the world wants nothing to do with the solution. It is a place of death and sacrifice, and we learned to associate it with love and life. But this is not life. Life does not end, but everything ends in this world, even the greatest accomplishments and best of all deeds - it all means nothing, if death is real. But if death is not real, then this world is not real, and one has to awaken from it, individually. I think it is essential for all of us to confront this world, to face it, see it for what it really is. Only then will we be able to make a choice that is meaningful. We have a perfect model of how to be in this world, I think, Michael, and I have met great teachers in that regard. But I think in the end, the world wants nothing to do with the solution. That should never be lost sight of; however, we are social animals ALSO and exist in what MLK called A SEAMLESS GARMENT OF DESTINY also. As long as we do not get distracted from meditation or whatever is our inner work I believe it is essential for all of us in the modern world to have an engaged, outer life that is an expression of that work.
