- Locate (and train, if necessary) eloquent people in your affinity group or team to interface with mainstream media;
- “Make a ripple.” Don’t play to the media or craft stories to fit within their frames: Remember what Gandhi said, “Throw the right pebble into the right pond and the ripples will take care of themselves.”
- Understand the basics of nonviolence and repeat them endlessly with “talking points.”
- Always be respectful: assume they will undersand and appreciate you views
- Learn their formats (but see point 1); try to give them what they need, e.g. a phone number for a follow-up.
