A seven year old teaches us about technology’s impacts…

Our friend Martin sent us this TED talk by Molly Wright, who is to date the youngest person to ever give a TED talk. In her presentation, she demonstrates the power of attention in creating connection with children in particular (though we know that this applies to adults as well as animals…) and how technologies like phones and computers can interrupt the lines of connection and trust being built especially when the brain is still forming. The message is clear: ff we are to build a future where children feel safe, connected, supported, understood, and loved, we have to put our phones down and be present.
