Indian Farmers Demonstrate the Power of Nonviolence

Indian Farmers' Protest by JK Photography, Wikimedia

Indian farmers led the way for nonviolence, providing an ‘ocular demonstration’ of its power for the rest of the world. The Modi government found itself in a serious dilemma over proposed new agricultural acts, the Farm Bills, and was persuaded through persistent and courageous nonviolence and intensified pressure and nonviolent escalation from the farmers’ movement to reconsider the long-term consequences of the government’s decisions. Accepting the strength of nonviolence is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of shared humanity.

Take time to learn more about the movement or share your story if you are a part of it.
