Waging Nonviolence is a nonprofit media organization dedicated to providing original reporting and expert analysis of social movements around the world.

NP’s mission is to protect civilians in violent conflicts through unarmed strategies, build peace side-by-side with local communities, and advocate for the wider adoption of these approaches to safeguard human lives and dignity. NP envisions a worldwide culture of peace in which conflicts within and between communities and countries are managed through nonviolent means. We are guided by principles of nonviolence, non-partisanship, primacy of local actors, and civilian-to-civilian action.

Each week, Nonviolence News brings 30-50 stories of “nonviolence in action” to readers, illuminating the scale and scope of how nonviolence is actively shaping our world. The weekly enewsletter shows the hopeful, courageous, and inspiring ways people are changing the narrative, culture, society, and politics across the globe. We cover stories on environmental, racial, economic, and social justice. We share working models of nonviolent alternatives. We spotlight individual acts of bravery and kindness. Nonviolence International advocates for active nonviolence and supports creative constructive nonviolent campaigns worldwide. We are a backbone organization of the nonviolent movement providing fiscal sponsorship to partners all over the globe. We tell the transformative stories of dynamic emerging nonviolent movements that give us hope in difficult times and are reshaping what we view as possible. By telling these inspirational stories and supporting these movements we help to create a peaceful and just future.

NGL’s mission is to integrate nonviolence into the fabric of human life through ongoing live experiments with truth focused on individual and collective liberation

MPT is a group of individuals creating a nonviolent alternative to militarism through empowered peacemaking. MPT trains individuals in nonviolence and places violence reduction peace teams (when invited) in war zones and places of conflict where a there is a likelihood of violence. MPT has (and is recruiting for) teams in Palestine, the U.S./Mexico Border, and other international sites as well as fielding Domestic Teams within the borders of the United States

The International Center on Nonviolent Conflict (ICNC) focuses on how these movements can build their effectiveness and win rights, freedom, and justice. Our mission is educational. We develop and share knowledge and resources on civil resistance with interested recipients throughout the world. This includes activists, scholars, educators, nongovernmental organizations, media professionals, and members of the policy community.

The Global Nonviolent Action Database provides free access to information about hundreds of cases of nonviolent action, from all continents and most countries, for learning and for citizen action. The database is a project of Swarthmore College.
