Invitation to Quaker Communitiies
Dear Friends,
The Metta Center for Nonviolence is reaching out with a listening invitation to Quaker communities and Friends.
We have produced a feature-length film, The Third Harmony: Nonviolence and the New Story of Human Nature, which explores the practice and power of nonviolence as it has been lived across movements and generations. The film highlights Quaker legacies of nonviolence, including the witness and contributions of Friends, and has been screened at many Friends meetings with thoughtful and enthusiastic responses.
We are interested in learning which Quaker communities—meetings, worship groups, peace committees, study circles, or other Friends-led gatherings—might be interested in hosting a screening, supported by optional discussion guides, queries, and flexible formats.
At this stage, we are simply listening and learning:
who is out there
who might be interested
and what formats would best serve Quaker communities
The film trailer can be viewed here.
If you are part of a Quaker community or know of a group that might be interested, you are warmly invited to contact us.
In friendship,
Stephanie Van Hook
