Ela Gandhi joins the Metta Center Board of Directors

We are so honored to have Ela Gandhi join our board of directors, all the way from Durban, South Africa where among other community-based nonviolence work, she heads the Phoenix Settlement Trust (Gandhi’s first ashram, where she was born). Under the apartheid regime, she was subject to house arrest for nine years. She worked with Nelson Mandela’s government, serving in the South African parliament from 1994-2004, working to dismantle apartheid.

We invite you to listen to our interview with Ms. Gandhi on Nonviolence Radio.
