February Introduction
Welcome to our Nonviolence Studies for February.
We are so excited to share some wonderful resources with you this month as our collective study adventure moves into the exploration of the Science of Nonviolence.
Ahimsa is a science. The word 'failure' has no place in the vocabulary of science. ~Gandhi
By way of introduction to this month’s material and focus, we’ve created this short video in which Michael explains why, at Metta, we advocate for the study of science as part of the worldview of nonviolence.
Invitations:
Gandhi understood that the nature of nonviolence was experimental and included experiments in his own life. Throughout this month, we invite you to join the experiment, and come up with your own.
Study Groups:
Because participants are joining us from many time zones, we invite those who are willing to host or convene a small study group—even just two people—to let people know. If you’re open to hosting, please share your time zone, general availability, and a way for others to contact you.
Study groups are informal and self-organized, and there’s no expectation that hosts facilitate content beyond helping coordinate a time to meet and a sharing a link for the meeting. Participants are welcome to reach out directly to any host whose availability works for them.
We encourage groups to share insights and questions that arise from their conversations in the weekly content space, helping us learn together across the wider community.
